The Person Behind Our Standard – And Why We Hired Her

A philosophy is only as strong as the people upholding it. Here's How we make sure ours never slips.

Any company can write down a set of values. The harder question is: who makes sure those values are actually lived every single day, not just in the first week, but in year three, year four, year five?

We asked ourselves that question early on. The answer led us to make an investment that very few pet care companies ever make.

A dedicated safety training manager

We hired a dedicated Safety Training Manager whose sole focus is the training, development, and ongoing accountability of every professional on our team. Not a manager who also handles training. Not a senior walker who helps out. A dedicated role, with a single purpose.

With over 10 years of hands-on dog training experience, she doesn't just set the bar, she actively ensures we never stop reaching for it. Complacency is the quiet enemy of quality in any service business, and her role exists specifically to keep it out of ours.

"Good habits require active maintenance, not just good intentions."

Quarterly assessments — for every client

Every quarter, our Safety Training Manager conducts formal assessments with our entire team, reviewing techniques, reinforcing standards, and identifying any areas where habits may have quietly drifted from our expectations.

For our membership clients, she goes even further. Each quarterly review evaluates four distinct dimensions:

The tool evaluation piece is something we're especially proud of. A harness that worked perfectly in spring may not be the right choice in summer heat. A dog who needed extra structure six months ago may have grown in confidence and require a lighter touch. Our Safety Training Manager catches these shifts so our team can adapt, rather than going through the motions with outdated assumptions.

We've been doing this work with the same commitment since day one. The result is a track record we're genuinely proud of — and one that speaks more clearly than anything we could write in a brochure.

What five years of this looks like

We've been doing this work with the same commitment since day one. The result is a track record we're genuinely proud of, and one that speaks more clearly than anything we could write in a brochure.

That record isn't an accident. It's the direct outcome of treating accountability not as a checkbox, but as a core value — one with a dedicated person behind it, every single day.

Ready to experience the difference?

We'd love to meet your dog or cat, and start building something great together.
